Cynthia Smith

Cynthia brings over 12 years of leadership and support to Universal Construction, helping guide the company through continued growth while maintaining a strong focus on relationships, integrity, and family values. She plays an active role in supporting company operations, administrative coordination, and major decision making across the organization.

As the mother of three Universal Construction employees, Cynthia brings a deeply personal investment to the company and its continued success. She supports many of the day to day needs that help keep operations moving smoothly, including administrative support, financial coordination, and oversight across the company.

Cynthia has also played a major role in shaping Universal Construction’s strong focus on education projects and the relationships the company has built within school districts and communities throughout the region.

Under Cynthia’s leadership, Universal Construction was recognized as the 2021 Kansas Women Owned Business in Construction, an award presented by Governor Laura Kelly recognizing the company’s continued impact and leadership within the construction industry.

In addition to supporting company operations, Cynthia also helps care for Universal Construction’s security dogs, Winter and Hammer, who are well known around the office and jobsites.

Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her sons and grandkids, along with RVing, riding her e-bike, kayaking, pickleball, and birding.
